The minister “pushed forward too fast” and “not enough listening” to the reform of welfare, said the Secretary of Education.

Bridget Phillipson also said that future expenditure decisions have been made “more difficult”, when asked about the prospects of the benefits of the benefits of two children who were canceled.

Phillipson told The BBC’s Sunday with the Lauransberg program that he “would not pretend that it was not a difficult or challenging week” after the ministers were forced to cancel their plans for payment of personal independence (PIP) in the face of backbench rebellions.

“I will be the first to admit that, both in the speed and nature of what we set, we do not do it properly, but we need to reform the system we have,” he said.

Asked about the Prime Minister’s authority, the education secretary said: “What the Prime Minister said, and what I believe also, is what we give, we push in the future too quickly, we are not enough to listen to people, including, I will say, including many people who have concerns about the nature of the change.”

The Minister has warned members of parliament that there will be financial consequences for the decision not to reform PIP as planned.

Labor backbencher has also encouraged the government to cancel the benefits of two children.

When asked whether there are fewer opportunities from the limits deleted given the cost that comes with Tuesday’s decision, Phillipson told the BBC that the ministers “see every lever and we will continue to see every lever to lift children out of poverty”.

Encouraged whether the possibility of a hat that occurs now is slimmer, Phillipson said: “The decision that has been taken in the last week does make decisions, decisions in the future are more difficult.

“But all that says, we will see this collectively in terms of all ways we can lift children from poverty.”

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Shadow Mel Stride has written to the budget supervisor who asked whether the new updated fiscal estimate was at work after the labor round of the welfare and winter fuel.

In his letter to the office for budget responsibilities, Mel said: “Public, parliament and markets deserve to get clarity and transparency on the impact of new events on state finances and government fiscal strategies.”

Conservatives will try to change the government welfare bill to tighten access to PIP and universal credit by putting a series of amendments this week.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch will also promise that Tories is “now the only party that is committed to serious welfare reform” in his speech expected on Thursday.
