Considered one of the largest Safran Landing Systems manufacturing centers in the world, the plant will represent an investment of more than EUR 280 million, create 500 jobs and operate on 100% decarbonized energy, while helping to attract new suppliers in the Moroccan ecosystem. The future site will be located within Midparc’s integrated aeronautics and space platform.

This will provide the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with advanced capabilities in precision machining, high-tech assembly, testing, certification and advanced maintenance. Dedicated to the Airbus A320, the factory will be built to the highest standards and equipped with modern, high-performance production equipment.

This project bears witness to the attention paid by His Majesty the King to Morocco’s industrial development and highlights the momentum driven by the Ruler to position the Kingdom as a competitive industrial platform on a global scale.

Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour underlined that in two decades Morocco has risen in rank to become the world’s reference aviation platform. In this dynamic, Safran, which has been a partner of the Kingdom for more than a quarter of a century, occupies a special place by accompanying the movement of the national industrial upper class.

The factory will be developed on an area of more than seven hectares. For Mezzour, the creation of the landing gear system in Morocco shows mastery of a complex technology and marks a new step in consolidating integration into the global value chain. He added that this project opens up prospects for Moroccan youth, with 25,000 talents already active in the sector.

Safran Chairman Ross McInnes welcomed the continuation of the partnership, noting the launch of the aircraft engine industrial complex last October under the leadership of His Majesty the King. This project will support increased production of the Airbus A320 while preparing for future generations of aircraft.

At the end of the ceremony, His Majesty the King led the signing of a memorandum of understanding regarding the project.
