Bridgerton is one of the TV shows planned for 2026

2026 will be another blockbuster year for TV, with the return of much-loved franchises such as Bridgerton and Industry, as well as a raft of new launches, including – for the young and always online – Ryan Murphy’s The Beauty, the thrilling-sounding “ozempic culture” show, and the return of Dawn French to a BBC prime time slot in her new comedy series.

Here are the 13 biggest TV shows launching in 2026 and when to watch them.

Can You Keep a Secret?

When Debbie Fendon’s grandmother’s husband, William, is mistakenly declared dead, the couple realizes they can exploit the mistake, hiding him in the attic so they can claim life insurance. But the conceit falls apart as their son Harry and his police officer wife Neha live nearby. Can You Keep a Secret? is based on the best-selling novel by Sophie Kinsella and the six-part series starring Dawn French will premiere on the BBC. In a statement, Simon Mayhew-Archer, the show’s creator and producer, described it as a “smart and charming family romp.” Early 2026; BBC One and iPlayer.

Beauty

Longtime collaborators Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson tackle “ozempic culture” in this new body horror series. Based on the comic book by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, The Beauty is a sexually transmitted virus that transforms anyone who contracts it into a perfect version of themselves – it slims, sculpts, and shapes – until it burns its host to death from the inside. The series follows the FBI’s investigation into STDs, which mysteriously begin wiping out supermodels. The star-studded cast will feature Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall as lead FBI investigators, and Ashton Kutcher as the tech billionaire villain, who plays the man behind “The Corporation.” Murphy told Variety that the show asks important questions like “what would you do for beauty? What would you do for money? This show has everything I’ve struggled with my entire career, all in one package.” Premieres January 21; Disney Plus

Night Manager

Tom Hiddleston returns as retired spy Jonathan Pine nearly a decade after the season premiere of The Night Manager in 2016. Together with Hiddleston, Olivia Colman and Alistair Petrie return to the series. The show is based on John le Carré’s 1993 novel of the same title. Creator David Farr told the Guardian that Le Carré, who died in 2020, had “given his blessing for a second season”. Premieres January 1
