Special Delegation of US President Donald Trump Keith Kellogg said the officials “worked very, very hard” in an effort to end the three -year war between Russia and Ukraine, due to lack of doubt progress about whether the settlement of peace could be in the horizon.
MR Kellogg said in KYIV that officials “hope to achieve a position where, in the near future, we have, with a lack of better terms, security guarantees” that discusses Ukrainian concerns about other invasion by Russia in the future.
“That is ongoing work,” he said about the guarantee of potential security, after attending the Breakfast of the National Prayer for the annual Ukraine together with politicians, business leaders, and diplomats.
A week ago, Trump said he had moved the arrangement for direct peace talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his colleague in Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. But Russian officials have hinted that such a peak will not occur in the near future.
Trump said he hoped to decide on the next step in two weeks if the conversation was immediately not scheduled.
The high -ranking visitor flow to Kyiv in the last few days reflects concerns around the peaceful push led by the US.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited Kyiv on Sunday for a meeting with Zelensky, promising two billion Canadian dollars (£ 1.06 billion) in assistance, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte was in the capital of Ukraine on Friday.
Deputy Chancellor and Minister of Finance Germany, Lars Klingbeil, arrived in Kyiv on Monday to discuss “how Germany can support Ukraine in the possible peace process”.
