Ben Affleck and Matt Damon part of new F1 documentary

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are part of the team producing a new Formula 1 documentary.

The film, titled “Turbulence: The Greatest Mind in Formula One”, will focus on Aston Martin’s Adrian Newey.

The design guru moves to Lawrence Stroll’s Formula 1 team after decades at Red Bull alongside former team principal Christian Horner.

Affleck and Damon’s Artists Equity organization are partnering with Whisper Group and Mark Stewart Productions to make the documentary, which will focus on his “ambitious journey in moving Aston Martin to the forefront.” The team will be involved in the production of the documentary.

Newey said that while he was initially “flattered, I wasn’t sure whether to accept it.”

“Hopefully this film can illustrate the passion, the work training, the strength of mind involved in bringing an F1 car to the grid,” he added.

“This film depicts the challenges I faced when joining a new team to prepare for the biggest regulation change in F1 history.

“It’s been a wild ride so far, but F1 never stands still.”

Formula 1 Document

Formula 1 credits part of its newfound popularity among young people to documentaries, with Drive to Survive a key player in changing the fortunes of F1 audiences.

And the motorsport hit the box office earlier this year, with a feature film starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris.

Affleck said: “This film is more than just racing, it’s about a living legend whose career was unparalleled, full of ambition and reinvention.
