Boss LSE asked for a long -term campaign to make the British invest again

The Head of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) has called for a new program to encourage investment in the British exchange that is surrounded in the midst of the stock market concerns towards long -term decline.

Dame Julia Hoggett suggested the ‘Tell Sid’ style campaign, which was a successful advertising initiative launched in 1986 to encourage people to buy shares in British gas after privatization.

Hoggett said that “We still have not seen a real turning point in terms of risk capital flow in and into the British”, despite efforts to reform the market by the government and by regulators.

“Many investors are more afraid of investing in real economics than investing in cryptocurrency … Now is the time for long -term public campaigns that will pay attention to investment,” he said at a conference held on Friday by the Capital Market Industry Task Force.

The exchange has seen a number of high profile exit this year, with Fintech Wise, FTSE100 giant DS Smith and Darktrace all left.

Flutter also decided that at the beginning of the year that the US list would not only provide encouragement, but also increased the opportunity to succeed in the main betting game in Atlantic.

Hoggett’s suggestion about the ‘Tell Sid’ campaign came in the midst of an increase in fear that LSE was heading to ‘Loop Doom’, with a depressed assessment that led to an explosion in US companies taking cheap British companies.

Right under a quarter of the British invested in the stock market, compared to around 60 percent in the US.

Sarah Pritchard, Deputy Chief Executive of Financial Behavior Authority, said at the same conference: “If we have more companies that register, some of them will fail and that should be good and the first reaction should not, ‘there must be something wrong with the rules.'”

Pritchard reportedly suggested that a proposal to help consumers manage their finances on a trip.
