This three -day event will see the participating golfers down on the iconic torrance and kittocks courses between 12 and 14 September to support the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, a charity body that hopes to cure MND named after a former British and Irish Lion Doddie Weir.

“We are honored to support the goal that brings so many meanings to the world of sports,” said Fairmont St. Andrews General Manager, Kai Winkler. “Doddie’s legacy continues to inspire, and we hope that this event will unite people in his enthusiasm with generosity, determination, and excitement.”

A long weekend will see a team consisting of two people, including a mixed pair, with a maximum defect of 36, take part in two golf rounds between torrance and kittocks courses. The entrance fee is £ 995 – per person – will include two nights accommodation, dinner, breakfast, and lunch awards.

Paul Thompson, from My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, said: “We thank Fairmont St. Andrews for their support for the foundation, which will make a real difference because we try to identify effective care and one day medicine for MND.

“The golf community is really behind the foundation, at all levels of the game, and this event is only the beginning of a special partnership.”

Torrance courses were originally opened in 2001, and now have several holes included from the original Bruce Devlin course.

Fairmont St. Andrews will contribute 10 percent of orders to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, with two courses that offer “challenges at the championship level, dramatic beach holes, and beautiful scenery to golf historic homes”.
