David Lammy is expected to spend the day in talks with colleagues throughout the Middle East after Iran launched a counterattack on Israel last night.
The Foreign Minister will be briefed by officials on Saturdays and will speak with numbers in the Middle East and elsewhere.
It happened after a conversation with representatives from Iran, Jordan and Saudi Arabia and European Foreign Minister on Friday.
Meanwhile, Iran’s state media said Tehran had warned the US, Britain and France not to help Israel stop Iranian attacks, according to reports.
Iran launched a missile and drone attack on Israel last night after a series of Israeli attacks in the heart of the Nuclear Program Tehran and the Armed Forces.
The United Nations Ambassador Tehran said 78 people had been killed and more than 320 were injured in the attack, while Tehran’s response was said to have killed at least three and injured dozens.
Speaking to the announcer on Friday night, Lammy said: “I spoke with my Iranian partner today to urge the restraint at this time and calm. I realize that this is a moment of great danger in the Middle East.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Donald Trump called for “diplomacy and dialogue” in a call on Friday, amid the diplomatic busyness from Western countries to try to calm the conflict.
Starmer previously urged his colleague in Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, not to improve and work towards “diplomatic resolution”.
The COBRA meeting of the high -level ministers was held on Friday afternoon to discuss the situation. The same thing was not expected on Saturday but Whitehall officials are expected to meet.
Lammy and Starmer to talk to G7 leaders
The conflict was turned on by the Israeli attack in the morning at Iran’s nuclear base on Friday.
Israel said that the series was needed before Iran was closer to building nuclear weapons, although experts and the US government had considered that Tehran was not actively working on such weapons.
Iran replied with a wave of drone and ballistic missile, with an explosion illuminating the sky above Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Starmer was determined for discussions with other world leaders at the G7 Summit in Canada next week.
Tensions between Israel, the US and Iran have increased in recent weeks, in the midst of negotiations on Iran’s nuclear agreements, which aims to prevent the country from developing nuclear weapons.
